My craft.
My comeback.
Our next
chapter.
I fought for the freedom to create hair care again. Now I’m building something we can grow together.
Hairdresser. Salon owner. Founder of wHiPi. & Crown.ologist Academy.

Bigger purpose.
beauty-industry career
and salon business owner
I helped bring to life
Hairdresser first.
Always.
Licensed cosmetologist. Salon owner.
Businesswoman. Beauty baddie.
I graduated high school in 2005 knowing beauty was my future. I’ve been a licensed cosmetologist and hairdresser for 20 years, and I owned my own salon from the beginning.
I grew quickly—building my clientele, growing a team, and having other salon professionals working in my chairs. Over the years, I’ve owned several businesses, grown salons, and sold salons. Building a business was part of my story long before Head Kandy.
As Head Kandy took off, my work grew beyond the salon. But the foundation stayed with me: the craft, the conversations, and the trust you earn with the person sitting in your chair.
When I talk about helping salon professionals grow, I’m speaking from experience. I’ve worked behind the chair, led the team, and built the business. That’s the experience I’m bringing into Crown.ologist.

Every box.Every late night.
I know what it takes
to build it.
Because I’ve lived every part of it.
I founded Head Kandy and helped grow it from hands-on beginnings into a major beauty brand. There were boxes in the house, warehouse days, product launches, and live demonstrations on HSN.
But what I loved most was creating: turning an idea into a product, showing someone how to use it, and hearing what it meant to them.
Formulating hair care and connecting with people has always been personal to me.

Head Kandy is part of my founder history. My chapter with the company ended in January 2023; I’m no longer involved. Today, my work is wHiPi. and Crown.ologist Academy.
I was fighting to sell hair care.
And I was losing my hair.
I was placed under a worldwide, three-year noncompete in hair care.
I spent $3.2 million in legal fees to get that noncompete dropped.
I was a hairdresser fighting to return to the craft I had spent my life building. And while I was fighting to sell hair care, I was losing my own hair.
I was diagnosed with massive depressive disorder. The trauma of that chapter brought depression, anxiety, and a level of fear I had never experienced before. Then I began losing my hair.
I was scared. I didn’t know who to talk to or what to do next. I was supposed to be the girl who knew everything about hair—and suddenly I was searching for answers for my own.
So I studied. I asked questions. I kept learning. That search led me into trichology.

Personal photographs from my journey. These moments are part of why this work matters so much to me.
You can see the change.
I remember the feeling.

It was never
“just hair” to me.
I knew how to make other people feel beautiful. Then I was the woman looking at her own hair, terrified and unsure who to turn to.
The sadness was real. So was the fear. I was already living through a diagnosed depressive disorder and anxiety, and losing my hair made that chapter feel even more personal.
I didn’t just want answers. I wanted to feel safe talking to someone I trusted.

More than a change in my hair.
A change in my purpose.
Looking at these photographs now, I can see the difference. But I haven’t forgotten how scared I was when I took the earlier ones.
That is what I want salon professionals to understand: the person in your chair may need more than a beautiful finish. They may need someone who will listen, document changes, and help them know when to seek further support.
My experience became the reason behind Crown.ologist. I want to help you become the trusted professional I wished I could turn to.
These are my personal photographs, taken at different times with different lighting and styling. They document my experience, not a promise of results from a particular product.
“I wished my hairdresser
knew more.”
I wanted to sit with someone I already loved and trusted. Someone who knew my hair. Someone who knew me.
I didn’t need my stylist to have every answer. I wanted someone who could listen, help me document what was changing, and recognize when I needed more support.
I never stopped
being a creator.
While hair care was on hold, I poured my energy into skincare, makeup, lashes, and waxing. That became wHiPi.
It grew into a beauty brand with millions of dollars in sales—and a community that gave me so much to keep creating for.
But I still wanted to get back to hair. Back to formulating. Back to using my experience to create products with a purpose.
My noncompete ended early.
The next morning, I launched my hair-care line.
I was ready. And this time, everything I had lived through came with me.

The freedom to create again.
The purpose to build it differently.

Scalp first.
Personality always.
Beautiful hair care. Tools you want to reach for. Beauty that brings a little joy to the everyday. This is where my passion for products lives today.
Your salon.
A little more wHiPi.
Love the products? Let’s talk about bringing them into your business.
You already help your clients find what works for them. Your retail shelf can be part of that conversation, too—from the tools you reach for to the beauty favorites they take home.

Your clients trust you.
Let’s build on that.
I created Crown.ologist to bring salon professionals together around a skill, a purpose, and the clients who already turn to them.

A shared purpose.
A place to belong.
We each have
our own chair.
Imagine us together.
When a client is worried about shedding or thinning, the conversation can feel vulnerable. You may be the first person they feel comfortable asking.
Crown.ologist helps salon professionals build the confidence to listen, document, monitor, and know when to refer.
For me, this is about client retention. Helping people feel heard and cared for. Building a reason to return to someone they trust.
And bringing professionals together to ask questions, share what they’re learning, celebrate wins, and grow.
Learn the method.
Capture consistent images with an iPhone or digital scope using the 7-Point Scalp Mapping Method.
Lead the conversation.
Establish a visual baseline, monitor changes, and build a thoughtful follow-up process.
Build the relationship.
Connect education, relevant home care, and ongoing conversations to your salon business.
Observe and document within your professional scope. Recognize when referral is appropriate, without diagnosing.
Give your clients care.
Give your business a BOOST.

Bring the conversation
home with BOOST.
I formulated BOOST, our microbiome-balancing daily leave-in scalp tonic. It began in wHiPi., where we’ve sold thousands of bottles in the past year alone. Now, that product experience is part of the professional opportunity I’m building with Crown.ologist.
You can build your skills and create an additional retail income stream in your salon. Learn to lead the conversation, recommend appropriate home care, and follow up with clients who already trust you.
This is a way to work toward a more profitable salon through education, client retention, and product sales—without making higher haircut prices your only path to growth.
A skill you can build on. A product you can bring into your salon.
Turn your
hair chair
to gold.
